PRODUCER
LMS began her career in public relations, holding positions at La MaMa E.T.C. and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) before transitioning into personal publicity for John Leguizamo. She later moved into film unit publicity, becoming a member of IATSE LOCAL 600 and working as a unit publicist on various film productions. In 2011, she shifted into journalism, establishing herself as an entertainment critic and writer for GO! Magazine, LatinStyle, myNewYorkeye, Essence.com, the Los Angeles Sentinel, and The New York Amsterdam News. As a children’s multimedia creator, Sandoval has authored two interactive children’s books—Taking the E! Train and Everybody Loves Cake—under Kids iStoryBooks. Both books were later adapted and staged at the Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) as part of the KaZoom Kids Storytelling Series, bringing their imaginative worlds to life through performance.
Expanding into filmmaking, Sandoval is the producer of the short documentary Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) in the City, directed by Cristy Trabadass, with Jesus Huidobro as editor and Rob Bevis as director of photography. The film captures the artistry and deep cultural significance of Mexico’s Día de Muertos, a beloved tradition that comes alive in New York. Honoring memory, resilience, and the universal connection between the living and the dead, the documentary follows the talented Mexican artists of Mano a Mano: Mexican Culture Without Borders, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and sharing Mexican traditions through the arts. The film celebrates how Día de Muertos transcends borders, blending heritage with contemporary expression in a vibrant, ever-evolving cultural tapestry.
Through journalism, children’s literature, and film, Sandoval remains deeply committed to amplifying underrepresented voices, preserving cultural legacies, and crafting narratives that resonate across generations.
DIRECTOR OF
PHOTOGRAPHY
ROBERT BEVIS grew up in rural south Georgia surrounded by decaying tobacco barns, freshwater bass ponds, and his mother’s watercolor paintings. He shot his first movies on glorious mini DV before attending film school and moving to New York, where he now calls home. His photographic approach is expressionistic and emotional. Rob’s first job in the film industry was as first assistant camera on the Florida-set indie horror-romance flick AFTER MIDNIGHT, which went on to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. He then worked as a lighting technician and gaffer in New York for several years, before committing full-time to director of photography work. Recently, two films Rob shot premiered at the Sundance Film Festival (DIDN’T THINK I’D SEE YOU HERE in 2024, and WEAPONS AND THEIR NAMES in 2023), while others have screened at festivals such as Palm Springs International Film Festival, Miami International Film Festival, Outfest, IndieMemphis, Bend Film Festival, and many more. Most recently, he wrapped principal photography on the feature film DEEPFAKE (written & directed by Matt Eames), a recipient of the Panavision NFP Grant, which is set to release in 2025.
